Free Exhibition Highlighting Mental Health Stigma
4 June 2014
A new exhibition of photographs at Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre explores the issues surrounding mental health.
One in four of us will be affected by a mental health problem and being able to talk about mental health is something that is important for us all. Celebrated photographer, Stuart Griffiths was commissioned to produce a series of new works that provide a visual and stimulating representation of issues surrounding the experience of mental health and stigma. Stuart won the National Media Photography Award in 2010 for his portraits of soldiers returning from conflict.
The exhibition was developed by the ‘1 in 4 steering group’ who are Somerset based mental health workers and service users, striving to end mental health discrimination. Members of the group will be staffing the exhibition at different times.
This exhibition was kindly supported by Somerset County Council.
