The Innovation Cafe
4 February 2014
In February Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre and Taunton’s Creative Innovation Centre presented The Innovation Café – a symposium showcasing some of the most innovative, imaginative and daring collaborations and innovations in the arts, business and healthcare communities.
The afternoon included a range of speakers and workshops, inviting six cultural leaders and organisations to showcase their work, presented in the dynamic, engaging and original PechaKucha format (a Japanese form of presentation – 20 slides, 20 second each).
Each presentations focussed on how working cross sector broadened / strengthened / challenged the organisation and how innovation has shaped their approach.
As well as live performance and some tasty nibbles the evening showcased everything from 3D printing to a dynamic new napkin project to aid sufferers of dementia; from interactive video design to Musgrove Park Hospital's celebrated arts programme.
This event formed part of a programme of activities funded by Somerset County Council Creative Industries Development Fund. Find our more about the Creative Innovation fund in this film made by Flock 92 Productions
