The Page is Printed Creative Writing Competition 2012

'What a great event this was! Big thanks to the many writers who entered the adult and under 16 competitions!

We had over 200 adult entries and 100 under 16 entries and it was wonderful to hear many of the shortlisted writers actually read their entries in person.

Their task? To write creatively in any format using no more than one side of A4. We had readers from Norfolk, Plymouth and Cornwall sharing their work with us on the night and in all we had over 40 readers, ranging from 7 to 70. What was so gratifying was the warmth and inclusiveness of the audience and the extremely high standard of the pieces read: funny, moving, thought-provoking and each skillfully conjuring a world in only one side of A4.

Thanks to everyone who made this evening such a great success - we're planning another open mic evening for all comers sometimes in the winter, plus the competition will run next summer, so watch this space if you want to be in with a chance of winning those Waterstone vouchers!'
